This question is a no-brainer and simply a Yes! They definitely need it. That is what which keeps them going.

Every celebrity today wants to be connected to their fans directly. Be it controversies, rumors, or appreciations, every single thing they earn or face is up on social media. And for a matter of fact, this is what keeps the Public Relation people in the world occupied.

Basically, there is almost 40% of the population who like to know every single detail of their favorite celebrity – their diet, their favorites, their likes, their family affairs, the dates, the link-ups, the break-ups, their beauty secrets and so much more. Facebook fan page of every celebrity is literally spammed with posts of their fans. In fact, a celebrity finds it better to face the audience through social media to come out of the controversies they face. Having huge fan following on social media sites, marketing and promotions has become the easiest of all. Be it a film release, fashion stylist or music release every renowned celebrity keeps his fans going with their proactive interaction.

Gradually, social media has become the most important means of communication for the celebrities. Selfie was around even before Ellen Degeneres “brought it out in open”, but simply social media was the mode that gave it a name and made it better known. It was then started by every celebrity in the media and was spreading like fire on social media.

It’s no more a traditional media ruling world, all the ears and eyes have turned towards the Social Media that has given the celebrities more than the recognition they have.
